John A. Knox

John Knox (1983, AL) is the Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor of Geography at the University of Georgia, where he has taught weather, climate, and physical geography courses to over 6,000 students since 2001. He has won national awards for both teaching and research and received a college-wide award for student advising. John has also served on the boards of directors of two campus ministries and the Clarke County (GA) Board of Education. A 1983 Presidential Scholar from Alabama, John has served as Chair of the Presidential Scholars Alumni Committee since 2015 and is Vice-Chair of the Presidential Scholars Foundation as well. He believes that good things always happen when you get Scholars together, in person or online.
