Anand Parekh

Anand Parekh, MD serves as the chief medical advisor of the Bipartisan Policy Center, a Washington, DC-based think tank that actively fosters bipartisanship by combining the best ideas from both parties to promote health, security, and opportunity for all Americans. Prior to joining BPC, he completed a decade of service at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services where as a HHS deputy assistant secretary for health, he developed and implemented national initiatives focused on prevention, wellness, and care management. Parekh is a board-certified internal medicine physician, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, an adjunct assistant professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University, and an adjunct professor of health management and policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. A 1994 U.S. Presidential Scholar from Michigan, he currently serves as treasurer of the Presidential Scholars Foundation Board of Directors.
