Lee Heinemann (2011, MO)

Lee Heinemann is an artist and organizer who makes programs and events with individuals and institutions. Heinemann is the initiator and lead facilitator of Get Your Life!—a collaborative, youth-centered video production company that partners practicing artists with middle school students at the Baltimore-based community center 901 Arts. Heinemann served as the education director of Baltimore nomadic museum The Contemporary, which produced Get Your Life! in 2016 and 2017. Get Your Life! is now in residence in the Joseph Education Center at the Baltimore Museum of Art through 2019.

Heinemann is the current education and community engagement manager at Oolite Arts in Miami and has created and contributed to programming for a range of arts organizations including as program coordinator for United States Artists and as a member of the Alumni Advisory Board of the National YoungArts Foundation. Heinemann speaks and moderates frequently including at the Baltimore School for the Arts, Open Engagement, and the Creative Time Summit. Heinemann is a 2015 graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art in interdisciplinary sculpture, and a 2014-2015 France-Merrick Fellow in Community Art.
